SUMMARY:Run with Ciara - Beyond Defeat!
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Children’s Grief Centre have a big fundraising event happening in 2020.  A friend and supporter of the Centre\, 28 year old Ciara McCullough\, is going to undertake an insurmountable task. She plans to run close to 1\,000 kilometres across Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way from Derry to Kinsale\, to raise money for the Children’s Grief Centre. \n \nMore information is available at; \nhttps://beyonddefeat.ie/about/ or download the mobile version of the app called ‘YVR’  (available through Google Play Store) at  https://yourvirtualrace.com/run-with-ciara/ to your phone (image is also attached above). \n \nHOW IT WORKS… \nPeople (of all running levels) can register on here to run with Ciara beginning on the 6th January 2020\, and choose the county they want to run with. \nThe cost is €25 (entry only option\, additional donations optional) and hundreds of people throughout the world are expected to Run with Ciara. Each participant will receive an e-bib\, a certificate of completion and a digital medal. \nThe idea is that each person will go out running during the same eight weeks as McCullough and as they run in real time their distance will be added to the live leader board within their county. \nWe would really appreciate if you could perhaps let your friends\, colleagues and members of your community know about this wonderful event and help raise funds for the Children’s Grief Centre’s New Build Fund.  The new building will allow the centre to grow and expand and continue to support children\, young people\, parents\, organisations and communities affected by loss.  Click the link for more information about the Centre’s Dream Build Fund … http://bit.ly/2Maf9xG \nWe sincerely thank you for your support. \nCiara’s Route is available here https://beyonddefeat.ie/route/   \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nFOR UPDATES\, KEEP IN TOUGH WITH OUR SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS; \nFacebook: @childrensgriefcentre \nTwitter: @children_grief \nInstagram: childrensgriefcentre \nThank you\, \nThe Children’s Grief Centre Team \n

SUMMARY:INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 8 MARCH 2020
DESCRIPTION:International Women’s Day Adare Manor Resort fund-raising dinner for Children’s Grief Centre to hear from inspirational female leaders \nOlive Foley calls for public support for brilliant charity \nThe Mid-West will roll out a red carpet for International Women’s Day on Sunday March 8th next as it celebrates inspirational females from the region at a special charity lunch at Adare Manor Resort. \nFemale leaders such as designer Louise Kennedy\, writer academic and broadcaster Sinead Burke and women’s health advocate and author Vicky Phelan will give attendees an insight into what has made them such achievers in their own lives and professions with their after-lunch addresses. \nThe event is a key fund raiser for the Children’s Grief Centre\, the Mid-West based charity founded in 2009 by Sr. Helen Culhane to support children and young people aged 4 to 18 who have been affected by loss through bereavement\, separation or divorce. \n \nLaunching the fundraiser today\, organiser and ambassador for the Children’s Grief Centre Olive Foley said that the event will be a wonderful opportunity to hear from top female role models while at the same time raise much needed funds for a brilliant organisation. \n“The work that Sr. Helen and all at the Children’s Grief Centre does is incredible and we as a family are indebted to her for the support we got following Anthony’s passing.  She is an inspirational woman who has done so much for so many and this fund raiser gives an opportunity to support her great work while at the same time hear from other inspirational women on International Women’s Day. \n“Sadly\, there are so many children out there who need the type of service the Children’s Grief Centre delivers so this fund raiser is an opportunity for us to thank Sr. Helen and her team in the best possible way by helping to ensure they have the funds to continue doing this great work.” \nThe event will involve drinks reception at 1.30 p.m followed by lunch in the Grand Ballroom at Adare Manor. Musical entertainment will be provided by Kathleen Turner\, Boris Hunka and the UL Strings directed by Diane Daly. \nTickets available from Eventbrite or by contacting Katrina on (087)4578030 / katrina@childrensgriefcentre.ie
