Voluntary Donations and Fundraising Activities

We believe that our services must be available free of charge. This means that most of our costs have to be met through voluntary donations and fundraising activities. We are grateful to all who support us in this way.

How to Donate

A little can go a long way towards helping another family on their journey through loss…

  • A €5 donation will cover tea and refreshments for our visitors when they call to use our comforting and confidential support service.
  • A €20 donation will allow us to purchase additional art materials for use in our one-to-one support sessions.
  • A €50 donation will cover the cost of a one-to-one support session for a child or a young person.
  • A €200 donation will fund the cost of a Schools’ Bereavement Support Workshop.

Donation Methods

Simply choose the donation method that suits you best:

  1. Donate online here – this is easy, safe and convenient and donations are accepted via Paypal or debit/credit card
  2. Donate by cheque
  3. Donate by bank draft/Electronic Funds Transfer
  4. Tax Effective Giving

You can increase the impact of your generous donation to the Children’s Grief Centre by 45% with a simple signature. The Charity Tax-Back scheme means that if you have donated €250 or more in the tax year, then the Children’s Grief Centre can reclaim the tax on your donation. The net result? Your donation of €250 is actually worth €362 – at no extra cost to you.

To enable the Children’s Grief Centre to reclaim the tax simply:

  • Download and print your form HERE
  • Fill in your PPS number
  • Sign the Form

Return the form to:

Children’s Grief Centre
Ashbourne Avenue, South Circular Road

The refund can be obtained on behalf of PAYE and Self-Assessed supporters. All details shared with the Children’s Grief Centre are confidential and will only be used for the purpose of the tax claim.

2. Support Our New Building Fund

To help more children, we need more space. Over time we have out-grown our premises, and in the next two years our goal is to acquire new premises.

Can you help us reach this goal? Your organisation could consider making a financial contribution towards our New Building Fund or sponsor one of the proposed new rooms which are outlined below. For example your funding could be used to fund decoration/re-modelling of a specific room or space in our new home.

  • Art Room 1
  • Art Room 2
  • Sensory Room
  • Teen Room
  • Parent’s Waiting Room
  • Staff Room
  • Outside Play Area

3. Company Giving

Partnerships are at the very heart of The Children’s Grief Centre. To date, we have acted as a safe and supportive space for over 1,100 children and we could not have done so without our incredible partners in the corporate world.

These solid partnerships are important for the sustainability of our work and allow us to plan for the future with confidence. If your company would like to show your support in this way we’d love to talk. Whether you’d like to back a specific project, or you’re looking for an on-going, strategic relationship we’ll work with you to tailor a partnership that matches your needs and which is a good fit for your core values and staff.
