In commemorating the 1916 rising, Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann has commissioned a new suite of music ‘Macalla 2016. Macalla 2016 will be performed at the Lime Tree Theatre tonight by the Comhaltas National Folk Orchestra of Ireland. As part of the commemoration, Comhaltas has identified seven peole who will receive a special award for this occasion. These seven people have been nominated as people who have fulfilled and continue to fulfil the idealism and the vision as noted by the seven signatories of the 1916 proclamation.
We are very proud to have Helen Culhane, Project Leader at the Children’s Grief Project chosen as one of the seven recipients. Helen and Maura Flanagan from the Children’s Grief Project are looking forward to what’s sure to be a very memorable event and sincere thanks to Comhaltas for nominating us for this award.
