On Saturday July 14th a very special party was held for the children who have attended the project in the garden outside the building where the children are supported. Invitations were sent and Forty seven children came with thirty three adults.
Because of the wonderful volunteers who came together for two hours one evening to plan the party and BBQ, it turned out to be a great day for the children and the adults alike.
From 2.00-5.30pm the children came all dressed up to be met by clowns, as well as bunting and balloons which gave a festive atmosphere. Activities included face painting, nail painting, art classes, a dress-up area, musical statues and lots of sports that both children and adults participated in. The three legged race, the egg and spoon race and the sack race were the highlights of the day.
The food and drinks were plentiful and delicious not to mention the home made goodies that were kindly brought in by the volunteers. The chocolate fountain was a great feature, there was great fun around the piñata and of course sweets were in good supply.
Children went home happy after making new friends and having lots of fun. An enjoyable day was had by all.
We are so grateful to all who contributed to the day including the Good Lord who kept it dry.
