Part- time Senior Support Worker (21 hours)

(based in Limerick City)

Founded in 2009, the Children’s Grief Centre provides a free one to one support service to children between the ages of 4 -18 years affected by loss as a result of death/parental separation and divorce. We provide a listening ear service to children and a safe space where children and young people are given the opportunity to look at feelings associated with loss.

We are seeking an empathetic, experienced and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our professional team and make a positive impact in the lives of children facing grief. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a compassionate and nurturing environment for children navigating loss.

 

Essential Criteria

1. Relevant professional qualification in the areas of Social Work, Social Care, Counselling/ Psychotherapy or a related discipline.

2. A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience working directly with children and young people

3. Experience of working with children and families who have experienced loss in their lives.

4. At least 3 years’ experience managing staff teams including supervision of staff.

5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and positive relationships with children and their families.

6. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team orientated environment.
